The Elder is a great rock concept album...that was overlooked simply because Kiss recorded a non-Kiss album. Great job Paul, Gene, Ace, and Eric (RIP).

i got bad reviews because they coulnt get along and it was not officially finished good song / concept/ bot sounds very muddy no crisp cool if they couls officially fix it

Wow--this is VERY cool! Thanks for posting. I remember when this came on TV (I was 12). This album gets alot of flack, but this is one hell of a performance from the guys. Strange..

I Think that Ace's was the unique character in that album with the rock style. Papa Simmons & Mama Stanley tried to make somethin totally different. The Elder is great just because Ace

I remember when The Elder was released in Canada in 1981. It was not well-received by the media, nor by many Kiss fans. In retrospect, however, it is an interesting and unique album.

Some of KISS's best work, I never understood why it got such bad reviews.I think they showcased some great songs on this album.
