Buckley was a true conservative. Not a "republican." He actually leaned more toward the Libertarian view, alternately calling himself Libertarian and Republican. He was a brilliant man, a great loss to us all. George Bush, while a true Social Conservatve, will never be considered a fiscal conservative. Bush has made many mistakes with spending, he did very well with tax cuts, but was strong on war support, abortion, retaining morals in this country.

@ riptide 3568 - I'm not clear on what you're saying? I thought the Cosa Nostra, Miami based Haitians, Colombians and Cuban fascist criminal "refugees" etc, were already virtually definitive "American Businesses"? Their moral outlook and general business models certainly are a perfect match for those larger corporations already quoted on the Dow, who have generally supported Republicanism politically (especially under Dubya Bush). Surely they're just at an earlier stage of development?

Buckley kinda looks like Rutger Hauer in this aspect ratio.

i feel the urge to make out with A female albino alligator, and then self mutilate my genitilia with an electric toothbrush. after the show is over i will probably fly to Namibia on a Teredactil or nearest available flying reptilian.

i want to circumsize a male albino hippo and then make love to an aligator with maximum exageration perpitration levels.

If you honestly believe that people who think like Buckley are now, or ever were, interested in legalization of illicit drugs for freedom-loving libertarian reasons, you must be extremely naive. Legalization would be followed by rapid commercialization (for "quality control"?), and the same grotesquely greedy Republican funding US multinational agri-giants that exploit the poor & weak all over the developing world today, would be up to their necks in mega-lucrative hard drug supply in a flash.

True... but aren't there already grotesquely greedy people supplying drugs to our country already? Don't these same people also exploit the poor & weak all over the developing world today? Why shouldn't an American business make the profit?

I don't know what they said to you, but I might steal that line for the next bastard trying to argue with me when all they got is; you can't spell!! NA-NA-NA-NA-NA-NAAAA
Clyaton (Wednesday 19th of November 2008 08:12:01 AM)
I doubt he's happily dead, that was badly stated. Anywayz, warmongering and cunts are not the focus of the video. What you seemingly don't realize, is that he is supporting something that would be a kick in the stomach to pharm. co's, alcohol and tobacco industry, possibly bars as well. So regardless of this man's moral characteristics, this man is right on this subject and you should respect that.

I agree. Obama will probably turn out just as malign as most politicians, everywhere. But I think we can agree that at least Obama was democratically elected. And that's where Buckley (and extreme leftists too) fall down. He thought it was in America's interests to support mass-murdering rightist dictatorships all over the world. And a man who thinks it's right to murder 10's of 1000's of innocent people, simply because they believe in democracy too, is a sick and evil warmongering cunt.
