because there are many cases that this statement is true. With technologies these days, they can now improve our well being. As humans, we are never satisfied with who we are or what we have so we find ways to improve ourselves. In this case, the girl's self esteem has probably improved because she is wearing that mask on the outside and photoshop "improved" her appearance even more.
