Yes, Whitney's version is the most vocally spectacular, but the song was meant to have sadness and melancholy to it. I think Syesha made it vocally impressive without copying Whitney, but she also managed to give it the original intent of the composer. Whitney's version soars, but in the process loses some of the intended emotional content.
