Because he might try to use it to fake out other players, warning them that he has this "platinum power of veto" and that he can use it to supercede any other veto, and that it even gives him to put up the HOH if he wants. Then he'll flash it (so that they can't get a good look and see it's just aluminum foil) and make people think twice about putting him up on the block or as a replacement nominee.

Only the big babies (Ollie) and sore losers (Michelle, April, and...oh, yeah, Ollie again) will be stupid enough to still be having hissy fits when it comes time to vote. The others will acknowledge that it's a game and Dan is one of the smartest BB players ever. Ollie and Michelle are too dumb to know that they got out played fair and square.
