i agree that malmsteen has some serious talent on guitar, but there's more to being a great musician than just writing a solo that sounds like a tommy gun. everything i've heard by malmsteen just feels so emotionless that i would never want to actually listen to his music because i just don't find him enjoyable to listen to.

too bad malmsteen's music has no soul and he's the most arrogant musician in rock history. so he can move his fingers at lightning speed. that doesn't make him the best. al di meola's precision and improvisational ability blows anything by malmsteen out of the water.
