I dunno. Everything that's good about modern Boeing jets like the 737-800/-900 or the 777 has been copied from Airbus aircraft: Just think of the 2-pilot glass cockpit, composite materials, fly-by-wire, two egine widebodies... Boeing would have NEVER used these techniques if it weren't for Airbus putting pressure on them. So, no, Boeing sucks really.

why do they paint if grey then yellow before painting it white?

to answer your question on the colors they use a couple of layers of primer to protect the hull of the plane from corrosion...either that or they just love painting...

No organization in the world could do it better than Boeing. Airbus products are wonderful too. Any manufacturer existing for decades will have numerous crashes due to numerous causes but few of those crashes will be due to a defective aircraft.
