Population Explosion - ECU #156

Back

The population is booming and Mike Hanauer of Zero Population Growth considers that the world's leading environmental problem. Population growth is already straining the world's environmental and energy resources. If current trends continue, the population of the U.S. could reach a half-billion in the next century and world population could triple to 14 billion. Hanauer speaks of what needs to be done to stem the population explosion.

To EkEMaN91: There should also be consideration for, that as world population grows, the need for sexual relief is growing, and there is understandably a growing number of sexually active people. The proper accomodation is to pair up, marry, and welcome babies to push out. Ice caps regrow in winter, but that doesn't get enviro-scare mainstream misleadia sound bites. Hurricanes fell short of predictions after 2005. This winter is too cold for "global warming." Climate naturally cycles.

If making accommodations for more people was as easy as you think it is we wouldn't be having problems in China, Israel and Japan (those that I could think of). The greatest problem facing us in combating though is that we are bastards that would rather that some stranger dies that no disturb our own bliss. Right now the western world (I think even America alone) has enough food to feed the entire world but sharing would mean less luxury and therefore we are content with the world being as it is

To EkEMaN91: You should understand, one factor driving population growth is "population competition." Depopulation agenda isn't working so well in India, because groups don't want to be swamped politically by other groups. In U.S. we have liberal retards trying to take over every level of government and wreck our economy with runaway deficit government spending and poverty-producing socialism. Larger families among conservatives get us back our votes. Israel is hated by enemies-no good reason.

To EkEMaN91: Didn't Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler, opine that they needed growing room? And yet world population has more than doubled since WW2, without countries finding any more growing room. Instead, countries worked together and developed technology to populate themselves DENSER. Less luxury? Can't protect luxury by culling "surplus" human population, for there will never ever be enough scapegoat population to be eliminated, to solve problems actually caused by corrupt politicians.

ToEkEMaN91 What does your Yaris example have to do with anything? If you have 30 people to move somewhere, why not put them into a bus? A bus is designed for more people Why are people starving. Hmmm. Why are people rebelling against God? Why do we still have Marxist dictators? Why do we have politicians so addicted to deficit spending? Why do we have stupid fiat-money-spending economic theories based upon Keynes, rather than upon Biblical principles? Why do we refuse to develop our resources?
EkEMaN91 (Wednesday 7th of January 2009 01:41:30 PM)
The Yaris is like the planet in that even if you could get 200 billion people on the planet there is no way that we would be able to produce enough food and limit pollution enough to stop that from destroying the planet unless we managed to invent a lot of things in the near future (such as cold-fusion) and put a stop to our selfishness. And even then a natural disaster (or at least consecutive ones) could easily decrease our food supply leading to starvation.
pronatalist (Wednesday 7th of January 2009 02:01:26 PM)
To EkEMaN91: If world could be made to hold maybe 200 billion, why worry as world population soars past 30 billion? Already, technology growth is fueled, accelerated by population growth. Because human population growth contains within it, the seeds of its own accomodation. Anti-population whiners are like selfish member on bus, who thinks 30 is too many. Why exactly? Human bodies can in fact, live and reproduce in closer proximity to one another. Urbanize planet to whatever extent needed.
EkEMaN91 (Wednesday 7th of January 2009 02:10:35 PM)
I don't know if technology growth is fueled by population growth (I would say it's fueled by money and the desire to make more) but even if that is the truth it is all too apparent that it is not fast enough to keep up. Otherwise we wouldn't be having hurricanes hitting America, Tsunamis hitting Asia and a shocking difference in the size of the polar ice caps due to pollution. We also wouldn't have seen any starvation in China. Technology just can't keep up.
pronatalist (Wednesday 7th of January 2009 02:36:08 PM)
To EkEMaN91: It should be evident that the recent dramatic population growth of the world, was largely responsible for the growth of modern convenience technology. But what's the true purpose of indoor flush toilets, refrigerators, clean gas and electric stoves and microwave ovens? A denser, more heavily populated world. We are still commanded by God to multiply. If frontiers are now vanishing, then we may have to sometimes "scoot over" and live closer together. God provides one way or another
pronatalist (Wednesday 7th of January 2009 01:20:04 PM)
To EkEMaN91: Why do you say that the pollution will not be mitigated? "Pollution in the U.S. has been decreasing." from the paperback cover of Julian Simon's The Ultimate Resource How is this possible as our population continues to rise? Enviros exxagerate "environmental" problems for political and religious anti-people agenda reasons. Most of Japan is empty of buildings. Cities can grow bigger and more numerous. Populating denser makes more sense to parents, than being robbed of their kids
