I'm with you on that one joseph. But i think these people are right, you are confusing FLDS. A renegade sect that broke away because they couldn't get enough incest sex. They have strong feelings about samesex marriages.
I think it's because it decreases their chances of inbreeding.

bugmenot The FLDS broke away because they saw the LDS church bowing to mans laws like wimps.They effectively continue what Joseph Smith and Brigham Young started and Polygamy of young girls to OLD Priesthood men is simply an Exhaltation process.Which of course happens to have benefits for those old men.
Well yes , Joseph Smith was the chief architect of using religion to make disturbing things ok.He had his followers provide him what he needed and wanted, he had them build a house for him, he told them he shouldn't work but be a full time leader and suported financialy by them.( all in D&C) and he took their wives from them and daughters also.
I think you are confusing our church with the FLDS church. We do not practice polygamy anymore, and child abuse in any form can result in x-communication, as so can the practice of polygamy. Reguardless of what you may have heard, church members are normal everyday people. We go to work, go to school, and participate in the community just like any other American. You probably come in contact with mormons that you respect everyday, but just don't happen to know what their faith is.

jen You practice Spiritual Polygamy in the Temple .A mormon man can seal additional earthly wives after the prior one dies, in the expectation of having multiple wives in the next life/ressurrection.
A female mormon cannot do this.
