dude your trippin. It died way before that. wayyyyyy before that. maybe like 1996 and even since 1994 Since 1993, the following people have been considered "rap artists":
Shaq and Allen Iverson and Ron Artest, Kid Rock, Will Smith (Pre-1993 Will Smith, or "The Fresh Prince," is surprisingly tolerable.) Little, Bow Wow, Bow Wow, Chingy, and Soulja Boy.
