Mormon belief Mormons believe God speaks

Back

Mormon belief: Mormons believe God speaks. Mormons believe the Bible is the word of God. Mormons believe the Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ. Each Mormon believes in continuing revelation from God. Mormons believe that God still speaks to prophets today. (Mormon Mormons Mormonism) Mormon Apostle, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland gave this testimony of continuing revelation and Mormon beliefs at the April 2008 Mormon (LDS) general conference. The LDS Church is commonly known as the Mormon Church. "A revelation from a deity would consist of knowledge of absolute truth." absolute truth to some, complete and utter nonsense to others! Luke 8:10

A revelation from a deity would consist of knowledge of absolute truth. A perfect god, in the sense of a perfectly good god, would pass on pure intelligence that represents perfect goodness or love. The emotions can accompany, but they are only a part of it. The intellectual side must be present also. Otherwise, you wouldn't be doing it right. I think most leave out the intellectual part. They feel good and say "I know its true!" and hardly ever study again. Thats absurd in my opinion.

I would slightly agree. I think too many Christians, including Mormons, trick themselves into this "warm chest" feeling and convince themselves of this due to a misunderstood reading. The "hearts burning within" the disciples is a figure of speech. Fire burns and gives off light and heat. Therefore, the "burning" consists of "light" or "enlightenment, knowledge" and "warmth" or "goodness". I think many Christians miss the Hebraic symbolism behind this phrase.

>if you feel that spirit. that'll be enough for you That warming of the heart you refer to is called delusion. Brainwashing is a powerful force. Your god is a myth. Joe was a con man as was his father.
