Hi everyone, we all know that we need to ask first before using someones work... Give credit and all of that.
I got thinking well what if I want to investigate something, and need to use someone elses video in my report?
Well news agencies get away with it because it's investigative reporting. Or educational or other things that can be done under fair use act of the US copyright law...
What happens when you ask for permission and you get no reply? Well from the best I understand this means then it could be OK to use the content.
Or, that the request was deleted, read laughed at and ignored, or simply they can say we are so busy that we never saw it in time.
But, speaking of time... What if the video content shows someone who could be harmed if someone does not act soon.
Harmed? How? Well take the video of Jacob Hall used to enjoy a customized wheelchair for his medical needs. Much like I do myself.
Now one day he gets run over by a car while in his only wheelchair that can support his needs.
I know grab another wheelchair slap it under him and he is off... Well it is not that simple.
Turns out that sitting full time can be rather well... He can injur his upper limbs... Shoulder of course, wrists, elbows fingers and end up needing many tyoes of medical treaments for these issues.
Now they can happen over time. Time can be a year, or can be a week before he blows out his wrist, a shoulder or something all due to using a wheelchair not designed with his medical needs in mind.
As we sit in an improper chair the weight of our legs will slowly cut off the blood flow and cause it to pool in the lower parts of our legs and feet...
A little time later and a blood clot forms... It can cause the need for amputation. To death, or other issues in between.
So what if TIME to wait for WBAL or Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc. Is just what Jacob Hall does not have...
I mean it's been a week or more now at least sense WBAL posted and then removed Jacob Halls video article from YouTube and made it hard to locate online...
This young man a 16 year old teen who has tond of life, very intelligent, and a all around great person is now suffering in FORCED ISOLATION.
The same thing I was faced with not long ago...
I post now WBAL and your parent company as well as NBC and ALL other NEWS MEDIA Organizations the NEW way PEOPLE with disabilities WILL NOT BE IGNORED any longer...
The DIGITAL ANSWER TO THAT DIGITAL COPYRIGHT BEAST!

07-21-08 I want to just make 100% Clear what you are looking at here people of YouTube is the ANSWER to the DCMA.
If I can not claim ignorance about the Copyright Law... Neither can the COpyright owners.
I will be posting in efforts to help prevent MEDICAL harm to Jacob Hall - Using Improper DME can leave him with damaged upper limbs, to pressure sores, amputation, and even death due to blood clotting.
WBAL will not reply and or repost the video. I will.

They continue to own the rights. I am asking for the OK to repost this in my follow up report is all... No slander, no flame wars... No hate... Just concern for Jacob Hall who should be the concern of WBAl as well...
