I'm a bit young, still in college, but I'm in awe of the sheer talent that Merv Griffin apparently had and used during his lifetime. Is it safe to assume that this is the same Merv Griffin who basically invented Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Merv Griffin's Crosswords?
I could be wrong, I'm not sure about what I ask about here, but please, someone clarify this for me. Thanks a lot!

He is indeed the same Merv Griffin who created WOF, Jeopardy and Crosswords. Before getting into the game show business he was a big band leader and singer, this song was a huge hit for him in the late 40's or early 50's.
