you are partly right, of course nothing can replace music played by a band, but you think of DJs in the "oldschool" way! Nowadays, Djs creating music, making there own sound of nothing, just from the unlimited world of the computer. That sounds strange, but a computer can do nearly everthing. And what it can't do is used from samples, the euphoria, the feelings that only can be brought from music created in reality. but that's just a part, and such a big one nowadays. try out!

Rappers I meant.

Yeah, it's SO hard to make up words to fit in with the beat. If they could actually USE the ENGLISH language to make their music, I might respect them.

And sure almost anyone can write a rap song but almost anyone can also write a pop/rock/younameit song. But the difference is that is it good and do they really got talent and something to say? There are massive amounts of rap songs that dont tell about asses or getting money. Open your ears and eyes : )

well there are a lot of rappers today that have backing band and they dont have those cheesy synth beats with basic drumloop from 808 samples or sample from "funky drummer".
For example The Roots, though theyve made some beats with machines too.

i fell asleep listening to this song the other night :]
Rap music takes a little skill to write, but only the actual rapping part. And don't even try to defend the rappers of today, because no one gives a fuck how much "ass" they get. Think about it if there was no such thing as editing and all they had is a drummer to keep beat and bass and guitar then they couldn't do fking shit. The rappers of today are fucking pathetic.
Anyway The Doors kick ass along with every other rock band that hasn't sold out and gone mainstream.
i would say its harder to have 4 people start from scratch and decide what notes to play on time.rather than have a dj sample music that has already been created and throwing lyrics over it. I dont mind if a dj samples this music, but if you just loop parts of it that sound exactly the same, come on, due samething new with it!we already heard the loops, now make it interesting, you know what im saying.
