Milton Friedman - Greed

Back

In his book "Capitalism and Freedom" (1962) Milton Friedman (1912-2006) advocated minimizing the role of government in a free market as a means of creating political and social freedom. An excerpt from an interview with Phil Donahue in 1979. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milton_Friedman

La crisia mundial ha ratificado una vez mas que sus "teorias" son una falacias. El neoliberalismo ya está obsoleto

greed is not hard wired in at all - there is no evidence to suggest that at all. Their is no Human Nature, only Human Behaviour. People may act greedy when they fear scaricty - but if things are plentiful...

A 'free' market just allows a select few with their highly narrow agendas and detrimental vices to fuck up things for everbody else. Of course greed is a natural instinct hardwired into everbody, like laziness or anger, but too much greed for greed's sake is blatantly harmful.

Greed is a subjective terminology spewed by those who will not accept ownership of choices which have led to their dismay and want others to take care of them in their stupidity.

The USA has been hijacked by greedy-Godless men/women/politicians who have allowed evil to take over our government. Their is going to be two classes, the upper (super wealthy) and the rest of US who will never be able to retire because crooked politicians have allowed unions to steal our tax dollars, jobs and freedoms. Revolt or die! p.s. If you think Obama is the answer, dream again. NOthing will change. He will never tax the rich who supported his plan from presidency. The"pissants" will pay

Please, spare us. For starters, are you actually stupid enough to believe that greed does not exist in communist societies (as that's what's you imply)? Greed exists in all societies - and, while not the most savory character trait, it is immeasurably better to allow people to freely pursue their own self-interests rather than to use violence and coercion to suppress what is only a natural human instinct.

Friedman's theories are all based on very weak assumptions, that's why he has used fallacies to explain his point of view. "Communism did not create wealth, therefore, greed is good" Milton was not an academic he was a cult leader.

I came close to hitting a deer this weekend, and the look of that deer in my headlights came rushing back through my mind after viewing this verbal beat down on a man with the intellectual acumen of a rotted acorn.

Milton Friedman and the "Supply-Side", "Trickle-Down" Economic Royalists that followed him (He's Dead, Thank God.) were as ugly and greedy as SIN! They were also so blind that they couldn't see that Greed is inevitable in the absence of an inner aim. You must have a "center" to your life, and the aim of personal gain is clearly defined: one gains something in order to GIVE! You don't want TO GAIN WEALTH, FORGETTING ALL OTHERS BUT SELF! What the Hell is laudable about that?
