The slow tempi work. Maestro Maazel conducts just down the river from here. Solti is good for the 'fast version'.

I had to bring my favourite art object to school for a cultural project, and I brought a cd of this symphony. The pupils were astonished! They all thought that classical music was dull.

Maybe you all don't know, but this simphony was sang twice in 2006 in Brazi (1st time in world that it was sung out doors)...
