Actually, they will implement elevators that travel at 40 MPH, meaning it would take less than 90 seconds to travel from the lobby to the highest floor. That would be a 3-minute round-trip journey. Not bad for a 1.4km tower.

If Sheikh Zayed really wanted to help Dubai, he would be building schools. These skyscrapers are all for use by wealthy foreigners and Dubai will be crushed under them.

Are you kidding? The punishment for homosexuality in Dubai is death. The United Arab Emirates is ranked literally last in the world in gender equality and over half the population never graduates secondary school. These buildings are all designed by foreigners and paid for with the last of the oil money that is quickly running out.
