bought my m1 garand last week payed $550 excelant rifle. Not a bad price at all for a semi auto 30-06 and has seen ww2-korean-veitnam war. Not a bad rifle at all for $550
He was Canadian, but moved to America and became an American citizen a few years before the rifle was submitted.
Saying that "America first adopted it" is a bit misleading. It was designed and built in America specifically to be submitted to the US Army in hopes it would be picked up as the next standard rifle, and it was. Canada has every right to be very proud of Garrand.
And you're right, while Garrands name is pronounced like errand, the rifle has always been pronounced gerr-AND...

One of my cuzn's little shit head white trash friends stoll my M-1 right out of my house while I was deployed to Iraq . It most likely ended up in a pawn shop but I hope the little shit broke his thumb if ya know what I mean !!!
Maybe my copy of the text is dated, this thing has been in the works in one way or another since the 90's. But the copy I have doesn't list the Garand. I'll do some research, thanks for the heads up...
