Quake has been developed by id Software in 1996. This first-person shooter introduced 3D models instead of 2D sprites and the use of lightmaps and 3D light sources. My Uncle Glen had this and he was a hardcore Quake-er back in the day. I used to play this as a kid. Didn't desensitize me though...
