I guess it's because it doesn't seem sincere. I'm positive that most fans won't bother checking out the rest of Debussy's work, or any other classical work.
It doesn't seem that they like it for itself but rather the fact that it was a beautiful song to their movie.
That's the PROBLEM! They need a fucking movie to introduce them to it. Otherwise they don't bother going out looking for something different.

I like this piece because of the PIECE.
Not because "OMG Twilight has it, now i HAVE to have it!"
I just heard about it from Twilight, and i really do like it.

lots of ppl have heard it from twilight =P. what about different places that u've heard it from, like your music teacher or something else?
Oh, bullshit. Most of the fans of twilight could probably care less about classical pieces. I bet my LIFE that after the twilight craze is over the majority of fans won't even bother with any more classics unless something else they idolize takes to it.
This isn't about more people liking this music, this is about them liking it for the sole reason that their movie does. It's just following the leader. And it's disgusting.
