I agree Yo-Yo's version is better, but this is still amazing. Everything is perfect- form, technique, tone, etc. It is played a little faster than I prefer, but Rostropovich is a master at utilizing tempo changes. And if this song doesn't make you swell at least a little with emotion, you better get your heart checked out.

I am a marimbist and have played this piece. I think that this tempo does the song a lot of justice. It's almost like the piece is spinning. I think it's not too fast, however, it is all a matter of taste.
