@ first i hated the fact SFIV was a new SF2 but after seeing this i have much respect for the direction they went.i still prefer 3rd strike but i look forward to IV.

This is confusing to me, since I can't understand the voices. People are actually playing, not just CPU, right?

original japanese version:
m. bison - usa boxer (making fun of mike tyson)
balrog - spanish cage fighter
sagat = sagat
vega - thailand final boss (w/ cape).
upon north american release, capcom feared a potential defamation lawsuit from mike tyson so they switcheda around the names of the bosses:
balrog - usa boxer
vega - spanish cage fighter
sagat = sagat
m. bison - thailand final boss (w/ cape).

bison (balrog) is a beast
DarkSanti(Monday 29th of December 2008 08:49:55 AM)
Because Balrog is his original name. In Europe (and I don't know if in US too), Capcom traduced the name's of the final enemies wrong, and the result is Balrog being called Vega, Vega being called Bison, and Bison being called Balrog. Curiously, when de infamous movie came to Europe, the translation keep the wrong names, and in Spain (from where I am), Vega it's still called M. Bison.
Actually, it's very weird xD

yea here the names are all reversed like you said. it just looks so weird to see these characters that ive been playing with forever with different names.
