Hardly a major victory.Doing a hunger strike stating that you wont stop till the ship leaves, the ship had a job to do and then it was obviously going to leave. A 10 day hungerstrike holy shit thats impressive, 10 whole days WOW.

God bless you Maura and those people who have the strength and integrity to stand up for what is right. It is easy and the modern way to go with the flow and not be too discerning in how multinationals go about their business. They rely on our ignorance and are only interested in profit. It is brave people like you who remind them that they dont and never will have carte blanche to do what they desire in our country. God bless mo chara

In your back yard? Oil hasn't been found in a back yard since Jed Clampett luck strike when he was hunting back in the 60's. Those innocent days are long gone.

these people and this woman included are not hippies or crustys as you might call them, they are just ordinary hard working people like me and you willski12,and just like us they dont like being walked on by corporations, and beaten up by the police they and we pay taxes to,!we do need oil fair enough, but not at the cost of hurting our honest citizens, and not to mention all that irish oil is going straight to norway and elsewhere not ireland, we get nothing!
AOBSHADOWGLASS(Tuesday 23rd of September 2008 01:14:52 PM)
ya i dont disagree that we can use oil and we do use it and will use it for centuries to come, but if shell or any of these corporations came walking into your back yard and started taking your families oil{which ye might use to heat house etc or proceeded to emty your car tank of petrol/diesel and wrecked your yard with waste etc, your tellin me you would bend over and take that shit????
AOBSHADOWGLASS(Tuesday 23rd of September 2008 01:21:26 PM)
and when you called the guards/police to make them stop they would arrive and beat the shit out of you and your family sayin you had no rights to complain, would you be ok with that???and then when you asked others to help or at least listen they just called you a stupid hippie, how would you feel willski12 ???
