Obama carried 28 states, plus DC and NE-02, which totals 365 electoral votes. McCain carried 22 states,a total of 173 electoral votes. McCain did better in the electoral college than 5 of 8 previous losing major party candidates;carried more states than 7 of 8 (only Gerald Ford won more). Obama did better in the electoral college than 3 of 8 winning candidates (Carter '76, Bush '00 & '04) & carried more states than Carter but less than any other winning candidate of the previous 8 elections.

Barack Obama won 52.8%, for 67,066,915 and John McCain received 45.9% for 58,421,377; Ralph Nader got about 1% for 701,139 and Bob Barr got under 1% with 512,643. (results get certfied on the 15th December)

maybe i'm old school, but it seems a bit disrespectful to me how he talks about Senator McCain and Senator Obama as "John" and "Barack".

Obama got 53% of the folks that (voted). 69 million thereabouts. There are 200 million of voting age. McCain got 57 million thereabouts.

a mere 57 million votes lol. The voting figures quoted suggest to me that half the population didnt vote at all.

Electoral college means nothing. Winning California would put Obama ahead 55 points, but its not that impressive because that were safe states. Obama only got 52% of the vote. Another thing, how dare Biden say anything about McCain not knowing about military vocab. McCain was an officer in the Navy Biden is a career politician with the credit card companies behind him.

you're also missing the fact that Obama won Florida, Ohio, New Mexico, Colorado, Virginia, N. Carolina, Nevada, & Indiana all states that went to Bush in 2004. The electoral college does mean something because when u win in an electoral blowout like obama did, it gives u a mandate.

The rich pay a lower real tax rate than their secretary. They probably pay half the real rate of most middle class people. I hope victimhood of the rich is the Republican battle cry they'll sink the party for 20 years!

it would be communism if they taxed the rich to the point where they would be poor. the tax rate just goes up by 3%.

alright i like obama but this kind of attitude is a disgrace to our democracy, really..
