HD-DVD RIP - Blu-Ray, the winner, it's you.

Back

HD-DVD is dead, the hi-def format war is finally over, toshiba conceded and has announced it's stopping production. What's left for a sucker to do byt destroy his HD-DVD xbox 360 player in fire? looks like SONY just had more money to throw around buying off studios and retailers for its version of a hi definition content disk. whatever, so long as we can have something before all physical media is made utterly obsolete by the awesomeness of online digital delivery. Enjoy your short lived victory Sony.

I know how you feel, jumping in to early! Sometimes that happens and remember the HD-DVD player isn't to bad. It will happily upscale your dvd's and the HD-DVD's out there we're pretty cheap lately. So they are not useless just..well a loser!

Actually fps dominator a dual-layer HD-DVD held 47 gigs vs. Blu-Rays 55 gigs. Either way it didn't matter because most HD movies are less than 45 gigs. And thats for a 2+ hour movie with 7.1 audio.

if it wasnt for the blu ray in the ps3 i would of destroyed my ps3 within two days of buying it. 360 games way better as is the xbox live (despite price) blu ray movies are fabulous i have over 40 in my collection now. i just hope now the war is over some of the old universal classics such as jurassic park and jaws as examples make it onto blu ray.

hahahaha i can just remember them xbox fanboys backing the HD-DVD stupid tards couldnt even tell the difference between 9GB and 50GB. i mean how obvious can it be to compare two numbers???? 9 or 50!!!!
CMK144 (Wednesday 26th of November 2008 10:15:37 PM)
however its going to cause the 360 to cost as much or more then the ps3, so no real point
